Before joining ASEM as Director, Dr. Bischoff was the Director of the Asian and Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT), a United Nations Organization.
Prior to his appointment as the Director of APCTT, Dr. Bischoff was a Senior Adviser in Science and Technology and Director of Projects for the German Agency for Technical Cooperation - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH.
Dr. Bischoff has also held responsible positions with private sector companies and universities both in Europe and South America and has served as a consultant to several companies and government institutions.
Dr. Bischoff has over 25 years experience in research and development and also in science and technology management in both developed and developing countries. He has distinguished himself in both the academic and engineering fields.

Environmentalist with short-term experience in the field of natural resource management in Indonesia, Costa Rica and Brazil.
Specializations include environmental chemistry and pollution (natural biogeochemical cycles, global atmospheric pollution, freshwater and marine pollution and urban and industrial pollution) as well as natural resource management (sustainable use and conservation of natural resources).
With this educational background and experience Ms. Killguss joined the Indo-German Environment Project (ASEM) in January 2005, where she is actively participating in the Electronic Waste Project, the EcoCities Project and a PPP (Public Private Partnership) Project related to Arsenic Mitigation of Ground Water in West Bengal.
